Could Cavin Johnson Replace Molefi Ntseki?
The new head of Kaizer Chiefs’ youth academy is reportedly being earmarked as a replacement for first team coach Molefi Ntseki.
Last week, it was announced that Cavin Johnson had been appointed as the head of the club’s academy, which will see him overseeing their entire youth training program. He will also be responsible for scouting for potential young players to join the academy.
However, reports indicate that Johnson’s appointment is a stepping stone to replacing Ntseki, who was made permanent coach of Amakhosi’s first team back in June.
Since then, Ntseki has come under fire for leading the Glamour Boys to countless losses, including a 1-0 loss to SuperSport United last Wednesday, 20 September, prompting frustrated fans to pelt the 54-year-old coach with projectiles and other objects.
“With Molefi Ntseki struggling to get the team into a winning groove, there’s chatter that if things don’t improve soon, Johnson might be the man to take over the reins,” one soccer outlet reported on Tuesday, 26 September.
Could Johnson’s appointment be regarded as a sign of things to come at Naturena? As always, watch this space!
